Welcome Bay School Reward Day Term 1

At Welcome Bay School, we have a behaviour system based on 'green card days'.
Each child has a pocket with a coloured card in, which has 4 different colours. Green, yellow, orange and red.
Everyday, each child starts with a green card.

At our school, there are 4 RIGHTS.

Everyone has the right to learn
Everyone has the right to be respected
Everyone has the right to be safe
Everyone has the right to have their environment and property protected

If these rights are broken, then the cards get flipped by the children.

Yellow for a warning
Orange for time out
Red for removal to the senior teacher.

At the end of each term we celebrate with the students that have consistently shown the right behaviour, and have consistently got green cards.

The juniors that qualified went down to Tye Park to celebrate.
Here are the photos.

The New Cat

In the last week of Term 1, Harakeke read the story called "The New Cat". This is the first story in the "Greedy Cat" series. All the children took this story home and shared it with their family. At school, we made cat pictures.

We decided to make a video about "The New Cat".

Kiwi Can

Each Monday morning Harakeke go to Kiwi Can. This is a value's based programme that is run by outside facilitators. The leaders are Andrew and Janine. This week we learnt about co-operation. We had to play a game that showed that we could co-operate. We had to hold hands and make letters of the alphabet.

It was FUN!!!

We like going to KIWI CAN!!
